SHOWGROUND

The 150 acre Royal Welsh Showground is open all year round. We host an array of exciting events set against the spectacular views of the Welsh countryside.

The Showground boasts many different venues catering for a variety of occasions such as weddings, business meetings, conferences, concerts, exhibitions and much more.

Clwyd Feature County are set to host The Royal Welsh Grassland Event on Thursday 12th May 2022 at Llysfasi College, Coleg Cambria, Llysfasi, Ruthin, LL15 2LB.

The Grassland Event is a fantastic day offering a huge variety for farmers, contractors, and the rural public. The day will include working machinery demonstrations in the field, forage trial plots covering a wide range of the latest crops and varieties, livestock equipment for the grassland farmer, plus a variety of trade stands and suppliers containing the full range of grassland and livestock requirements.

The main spectacles at the Grassland Event are of course the live demonstrations. The demonstration exhibitors and the machinery brands they will be showcasing include:

  • Mona Tractors Co. Ltd with John Deere, Kverneland UK and Vicon
  • Emyr Evans a’i Gwmni Cyf with Massey Ferguson,Fendt, JCB, McHale and PÖTTINGER
  • HJR Agri Oswestry Ltd with McCormick Tractors UK & Ireland and Pottinger
  • Malpas Tractors with New Holland Agriculture and Kuhn Farm Machinery
  • Hughes Bros. Agricultural & Groundcare Machinery with Kubota
  • CASE IH

As well as plenty of live action at the event, visitors can also listen to some great guest speakers covering important topics in farming.

  • Welsh Soil Project – Putting a Figure on Carbon Stocks in Wales. Speakers: Non Williams and Menna Williams, Farming Connect
  • The Role of Internet of Things (IoT) in Slurry Management. Speakers: Geraint Hughes, Ymgynghori Lafan Consulting and Ceredig Evans, Erw Fawr, Anglesey
  • The Role of Soils in Production, Animal Health, and Margins. Speaker: Andrew Rees, Moor Farm, Pembrokeshire
  • The Role of Foliar Feed in Grassland. Speaker: Nigel Howells, Nigel Howells Consulting

On the day of the event there will be a tractor and trailer transporting visitors around the site. Tickets are priced at £10 per person and can be purchased on the day at the gates. The organisers will have card machine but due to poor signal quality do encourage the use of cash.
