SHOWGROUND

The 150 acre Royal Welsh Showground is open all year round. We host an array of exciting events set against the spectacular views of the Welsh countryside.

The Showground boasts many different venues catering for a variety of occasions such as weddings, business meetings, conferences, concerts, exhibitions and much more.

Monday 20th July

  • 8.30AM – Hybu Cig Cymru Virtual Breakfast with Welsh Minister Lesley Griffiths:
The Hybu Cig Cymru breakfast on the first morning of the Royal Welsh Show is a traditional highlight which often helps to set the news agenda for the week.
This year, the Minister Lesley Griffiths and HCC chair Kevin Roberts will set out their views on the state of the industry, with key facts and figures in digital form, and offer an outlook for the rest of the year.
  • 10:00AM – Opening Ceremony with HRH Prince Charles
The annual opening ceremony of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show takes place every year at 10:00AM.
We are delighted that our first virtual show will be officially opened by HRH the Prince of Wales. Also featuring in the opening sequence are David Lewis Chair of Council, Archbishop John Davies and the new Show Director Richard Price.11:00AM – NFU Cymru in discussion with the First Minister
Following a successful and well attended Brexit seminar at last year’s Royal Welsh Show, Wales’ First Minister, The Rt Hon Mark Drakeford MS, has kindly agreed to join NFU Cymru once again for an on-line seminar on Monday 20th July at 11am, on what would have been the first day of the 2020 Royal Welsh Show.
  • 1:00PM – Main Ring Display: Kangaroo Kid
The Kangaroo Kid performs in the main ring and rides his quad bike at break neck speed, not an event to miss!
  • 3.30PM – Wales YFC Results
During the Royal Welsh Show the Young Farmers section will be busy as usual.
You are very welcome to join us and share memories of competitions you’ve competed in in the past and to see a varied programme of events across the week. You can depend on Wales YFC members to bring the Show to your Sofa!We hope you enjoy Monday of our first ever digital Royal Welsh Show.
