SHOWGROUND

The 150 acre Royal Welsh Showground is open all year round. We host an array of exciting events set against the spectacular views of the Welsh countryside.

The Showground boasts many different venues catering for a variety of occasions such as weddings, business meetings, conferences, concerts, exhibitions and much more.

Each year, the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society runs photography and art competitions for school children. This forms part of the Society’s charitable objectives to promote agriculture, horticulture, forestry, and conservation in Wales.

Children’s Safety Competition

Use your skill and imagination to create a painting or drawing illustrating how to stay safe near electricity equipment and pylons.

Age Categories: 5-7 years, 8-9 years, 10-11 years

Win cash prizes for you and your school! The overall winning entry will become a safety poster for National Grid Electricity Distribution.

The closing date for entries is Friday 19th May 2023.

RWAS Forestry Committee Primary School Photographic Competition

An opportunity to win cash for your school and a visit to the Royal Welsh Show! The theme for the primary school photographic competition is ‘Woodland Creatures’.

Look out for wildlife in the woods and start snapping! From birds to butterflies, squirrels to hares – we’re looking for the special creatures you can find in the woodland.

Competition closes on Monday 12th June 2023.

RWAS Forestry Committee Secondary School Photographic Competition

Win a trip to the Royal Welsh Show and a cash prize for your school! The theme for the secondary school photographic competition is ‘Importance of Woodland’.

Forests and woodland provide a wonderful habitat for all kinds of animals. Full of beautiful trees, flowers and wildlife they are an exciting place to explore. We can’t wait to see why the woodland is important to you!
