The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society has played a leading role in the development of agriculture and the rural economy in Wales for over a century, since its formation in 1904.
Today our work includes providing support for business, social welfare and education in rural communities, and the organisation and staging of our ever-popular society events; the Royal Welsh Show and the Winter Fair.

SHOWGROUND
The 150 acre Royal Welsh Showground is open all year round. We host an array of exciting events set against the spectacular views of the Welsh countryside.
The Showground boasts many different venues catering for a variety of occasions such as weddings, business meetings, conferences, concerts, exhibitions and much more.
The growing season is fast approaching, and with it, planning is well underway for the 2026 Royal Welsh Show Horticultural Village.
Launched in 2024, the Village will continue to celebrate all aspects of horticulture in Wales, from community and commercial growing to competitive showing and displays. It will also promote the health and social benefits of gardening. Guided by the ethos to inspire, educate and collaborate, the Village will provide inclusive social spaces, meeting areas and demonstration stages that encourage learning, creativity and collaboration.
The Society is delighted to announce that Adam Frost – British garden designer and horticulturalist, renowned for his successes at the Chelsea Flower Show and as a presenter on BBC Gardeners’ World – will be joining the Horticultural Village on Monday. Adam will take part in judging and will also participate in activities across the Village, offering visitors the opportunity to see one of the UK’s best-known horticultural figures in action.
The competitive element will be located in the same area as last year, accessible via internal routes or external pathways. The Garddle area, which hosts general competitions, children’s activities and trade stands, will once again flow into the Eisteddflodau area, featuring floral art, workshops and trade stands. This space has been extended to include the Farchnad, a dedicated selling area for Welsh growers. The Presentation of Awards will take place in the Dysgubor Marquee on Monday and Thursday.
Competition schedules for the Horticultural Village are now available on the RWAS website and entries are open.
So, if you have an interest in competing in the honey section, floral art, vegetables, plants, cut flowers, children’s sections, or micro gardens, visit the website for more details.
Keep an eye on our social media channels for further exciting announcements over the coming weeks!
