Each year the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society has a different Feature County, and this year it’s Glamorgan’s turn. The Glamorgan Feature County event for 2023 is Regen ’23, standing for Regenerative, Energy, Grassland, Environmental and Natural.

The exciting Regen event will take place in the Vale of Glamorgan, at Sealands Farm, St Brides Major CF32 0RR on Thursday 8 June 2023 at 10am. Kindly hosted by permission of Richard and Lynwen Anthony and family. Richard Anthony operates a diverse, progressive arable enterprise that integrates livestock and renewable energy, with a focus on soil health, grassland and carbon capture.

The event will cover 600 acres showcasing the very best of Welsh agriculture and how regenerative and progressive farming systems can help overcome the future challenges facing Welsh agriculture.

It will host several industry leaders, organisations and companies from all sectors, making it a must-visit event for anybody interested in the future of farming.

The event will include:

  • Farm Tours – Tours will take place at regular intervals throughout the day stopping at various trial sites and points of interest to demonstrate the current methods being tried on the farm. Trials will include, cereals, oilseed rape, grass, alternative protein crops, maize, cover crops, environment, and conservation.
  • Trade Stands – Organisations and businesses for arable and livestock sectors.
  • Seminars – Seminars and Q&A sessions throughout the day from industry-leading farmers and Members of Parliament.
  • Working Demonstrations – A host of working demonstrations from a variety of machinery manufacturers.
  • Hospitality – Fully stocked bar and catering area.

Glamorgan’s chosen charities include The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI), and Wales Air Ambulance, amongst others.

There are plenty of ways to get involved in the event, such as sponsorship and advertising packages, trade stands, trial plots and equipment demonstrations. For more information or to apply for any of the opportunities available, go to the RWAS website. The deadline for applications is Friday 28th April 2023.

Regen ’23 is a fantastic opportunity to provide farmers with a fusion of technology where they can learn, look, explore, and adopt new agricultural practices.
