SHOWGROUND

The 150 acre Royal Welsh Showground is open all year round. We host an array of exciting events set against the spectacular views of the Welsh countryside.

The Showground boasts many different venues catering for a variety of occasions such as weddings, business meetings, conferences, concerts, exhibitions and much more.

Parking

Free parking is provided on the lower Showground, North 3, Horse Hill and Station Yard.

Only those vehicles displaying the Social Services Blue Badge permit will be given priority. There is limited capacity on site.

Toilets, showers and baby changing facilities

Toilets are situated as follows: 

  • Montgomery Pavilion,
  • South Glamorgan Exhibition Hall,
  • Main Toilet Block – Livestock Area (Adjacent to Neuadd Henllan),
  • Block to rear of Royal Welsh Exhibition Centre,
  • Livestock Entrance Toilet Block (Adjacent to the NSA),
  • Toilet block to the rear of HSBC,
  • Hafod a Hendre,
  • Horse Hill Toilets,
  • Entrance A Toilets,
  • Avenue J/H (Horse Section),
  • Avenue C/D (near Machinery Entrance),
  • Clwyd Glamorgan Hall,
  • International Pavilion,
  • Members Centre
  • Underpass Toilet Block.

Toilets for those with accessibility needs are provided within the main toilet blocks situated near to the underpass, near Entrance A, near HSBC and adjacent to the Pig & Goat Ring.  Accessibility facilities are also available in the Montgomery Pavilion, South Glamorgan Exhibition Hall, International Pavilion, Members Centre and the Clwyd Glamorgan Hall.

BABANOD – BABIES

Baby changing facilities are provided in the toilet blocks adjacent to the Goat Ring, Toilet block adjacent to Neuadd Henllan, Main Ring Underpass, International Pavilion (upstairs), Montgomery Pavilion, Members Centre and in the South Glamorgan Exhibition Hall.

A dedicated area is provided by the Society in the Sponsors Pavilion Unit under the Grandstand which will be open as follows, operated by Society Stewards:

Monday: 10.00 am – 7.00 pm

Tuesday: 10.00 am – 4.00 pm

Lost children

To report a lost child or adult please contact the RWAS Headquarters on Tel: 01982 553683.

A lost child, if found by members of the public, should be escorted to the Baby Feeding & Changing Facilities area situated under the grandstand, see map reference 24.

The Society insists that two persons escort the lost child.  There are specific procedures in place for the return of found children to parents/carers.  You should not hand back a child to a person purporting to be the parent/carer without following these procedures.

Cash points

A cash point facility operated by Cash on the Move, can be found outside, on the corner of the South Glamorgan Hall, opposite the Montgomery Pavilion.

Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, please call 999.

For non-emergencies, the police can be contacted on: 101) or the RWAS Headquarters is next to the Montgomery Pavilion (Telephone: 01982 553683).

We take the safety of our visitors at our events seriously and we will have measures in place for your protection, including CCTV cameras at various points on site, bag searches, emergency procedures and protocols in place.

If you have any concerns or see something suspicious, please do not hesitate to contact us. In the unlikely event of a knife or gun attack, please remember ‘RUN, HIDE and TELL’. When you have found a safe place to hide, place your mobile phone on silent and programme it not to vibrate.

First Aid

The First Aid Centre is situated in the Sheep Ring Control Tower.  There will be continuous cover from 10.00 am Sunday morning to 6.00 pm Tuesday evening.

Dogs

With the exception of registered assistance dogs (recognised ID cards for assistance dogs will be required to gain access) and exhibitors entered in the Hound Show, no dogs will be permitted within the Showground perimeter fence.

Please note that NO dogs (including assistance dogs) are allowed in the Livestock buildings (cattle, sheep and pig), Carcass Hall, Royal Welsh Exhibition Centre, Horse Marquee and Horse Lines and Fur & Feather Pavilion due to the presence of stock.  Registered assistance dogs will be allowed into the Food Hall and Catering Areas.

Please do not leave dogs in cars.

Lost Property

The society accepts no responsibility for articles lost or stolen at the event.  Dyfed Powys Police have a new lost and found procedure, please report any lost items via the following website: www.reportmyloss.com/uk/

Wi-Fi

There will be free public WiFi hotspots around the main cattle ring (Hall 1), Hafod a Hendre, the Members Centre and in the Food Hall.

Photography and filming

Please be aware that photographs and film will be taken throughout the showground for broadcast, publicity and marketing purposes.

Trophy Room

The RWAS Trophy Room, located in the Clwyd Glamorgan Hall, will be open from 10.00 am – 4.00 pm each day.  The room houses 125 of the Society trophies.

Chaplaincy

The Royal Welsh Chaplaincy team are based in the foyer of the Clwyd Glamorgan Hall and are available to offer pastoral care from 8am – 8pm. In an emergency, they can be contacted on 07506 969195.

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed in any enclosed or partially enclosed public area.

Alcohol

Visitors are not permitted to drink alcohol whilst walking around the showground and within the public, unlicensed areas.
