The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society has played a leading role in the development of agriculture and the rural economy in Wales for over a century, since its formation in 1904.

Today our work includes providing support for business, social welfare and education in rural communities, and the organisation and staging of our ever-popular society events; the Smallholding and Countryside Festival, the Royal Welsh Show  and the Winter Fair.

SHOWGROUND

The 150 acre Royal Welsh Showground is open all year round. We host an array of exciting events set against the spectacular views of the Welsh countryside.

The Showground boasts many different venues catering for a variety of occasions such as weddings, business meetings, conferences, concerts, exhibitions and much more.

The entries for Livestock and Equine classes have already been coming in thick and fast for this year’s Royal Welsh Show which takes place at the Royal Welsh Showground in Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, from July 18 – 21 2022.

Entries opened at 10am on Wednesday 30th March, and over 1000 entries were received in just 3 hours, demonstrating how eager exhibitors are to be returning to the Showground for the first Royal Welsh Show in three years due to the coronavirus pandemic. We have currently received almost 2000 entries from over 500 competitors and this number continues to climb as more entries flood in.

There has been a fantastic response from exhibitors and the Society would like to thank all exhibitors who have already entered competitions.

This year exhibitors are able to enter the competitions via the new online entry system. Due to high demand, the RWAS website and new entry system did unfortunately experience some technical difficulties during the first few hours of entries opening and these issues are being resolved, with the support of our new software providers.

The Livestock and Equine schedules are all available to view on the RWAS website, along with a user guide on how to enter online and a handy video showing a step-by-step process. Entries close on Wednesday 20th April.

The Society is extremely grateful for the overwhelming support from exhibitors, visitors, traders and sponsors that we have received so far. We are very much looking forward to seeing the Showground come to life once again this July as we welcome you back to what is the pinnacle event in the British agricultural calendar, the Royal Welsh Show.

For any queries regarding the schedules or competition entries please contact the Livestock team at livestock@rwas.co.uk or call the office on 01982 553683. Tickets for the Royal Welsh Show are available to purchase from our website.
